Lenses should be carried according to the need and type of photography you do or are interested in. Considering what focal length you need is the first question you should ask yourself before buying any lens. If you’re shooting landscapes or wide-angle shots, it’s best to get a wide-angle lens that lets in more light. If you shoot portraits or photos of subjects close to the camera, you may either need a portrait lens with a larger aperture opening or a best telephoto lens. If you’re shooting wildlife, it’s best to get a super telephoto lens that starts minimum with 200mm and also that lets in more light. Either one is fine, just make sure that you know what kind of lens you’ll need for the intended use before purchasing. What features does the camera have? When choosing a camera, it’s always important to make sure that it has at least some of the features that you’re looking for. Macro lenses are now very useful for wedding photographers. These lenses are used to take close-up, detailed photos of objects or subjects that can range in size from a few inches to miles. Macro lenses can sometimes be clunky, cumbersome and difficult to use. They are also expensive and a little tricky to find the right one for you in the first place. Macro lenses tend to have fixed focal lengths, which means that if you’re shooting with one of them, you will always have a specific magnification no matter what lens you use while in wedding photography. I personally don’t think that macro lenses are worth the extra trouble for wedding photographers if you can find one that is versatile, and a little less expensive than what you would expect from such a specialty lens. These can be mostly used to shoot the makeup, some jewelry’ shots, eyelashes, rings of the bride-groom which ads more creativity to the photographs

Weddings are a special time and capturing this often magical moment has always been challenging. When looking for the best telephoto lens it is important to consider factors that are unique to wedding photography. A telephoto lens should be able to give you a large depth of field and quick aperture. This allows the photographer to create a blur that is more natural and aesthetically pleasing. While the lens will give you great magnification, it should also be lightweight and compact, so it doesn’t take up too much space in your camera bag. A quick focus motor is also important so that you can quickly adjust the focal length when taking portraits of guests. Finally, a telephoto lens should be able to create sharp images with minimal chromatic aberration and distortion. This is a must-have lens along with a wide lens. As a wide lens captures the events happening this helps in capturing the emotion behind them.
The more costly the lenses are they will also often have elements such as Nano coating and even a splash-proof design which will make it easier to take care of in rain.

5) Fisheye Lenses for wedding photography
Fisheye lenses are one of the hottest trends in wedding photography these days. They allow you to capture the entire landscape with a single lens and lend depth to your images. Fisheye lenses also offer unique opportunities for creative shooting angles. There are a few things to keep in mind when considering buying a fisheye lens, however. The most important factor to remember is that all fisheye lenses are not created equal. Some have much more distortion than others. The key is to find a lens that preserves the horizon and/or the top third of your pictures as much as possible. A second consideration is weight. Fisheyes are heavy, so if you’re an active shooter, you’ll want to invest in a lens that can be carried easily.
In conclusion, If I could own any lenses I want, I would have a Canon 15-35mm 2.8 RF lens, a Canon 70-200mm 2.8 RF and a Canon 85mm 1.8 RF lens while I go on a wedding shoot. I say Canon just because I am a Canon shooter, you can choose similar lenses from any company.
